Painters Dunedin is centred on a small, practical team with a shared appreciation for Dunedin homes and careful painting work. Each person brings different strengths, but all three believe that preparation, communication and respect for the property matter.
Hamish grew up in Dunedin and developed his approach to painting while working on older weatherboard houses and interior renovations around the city. He enjoys the problem-solving side of preparation, especially working out why an existing finish has failed. Outside work, he likes fishing around Otago Harbour and spending time with his family.
Sarah has a particular interest in interior colour, smooth wall finishes and the small details that bring a room together. Originally from the Taieri area, she enjoys helping homeowners think through practical colour and finish choices. Away from painting, she spends time gardening and walking local tracks.
Liam is a Dunedin local who enjoys the hands-on side of exterior preparation, from detailed timber sanding to planning an organised work area. He takes a practical approach to weather, surface condition and making sure preparation is not rushed. In his free time, he enjoys mountain biking and exploring the hills around Otago.
We begin by listening to what the customer wants to achieve. That might mean freshening a tired room, improving the appearance of an exterior or planning a complete house repaint. We look at the surfaces, discuss preparation, explain any visible issues and work through a scope that suits the property.
Once the work is planned, we focus on keeping the job organised. We protect appropriate areas, prepare the surfaces, apply suitable coatings and pay attention to finishing details. If a problem becomes apparent or conditions affect the schedule, we believe the right approach is to explain it clearly and agree on the next step.
